What can I do to improve the marketability of my home. First impressions are lasting impressions. That's why the appearance of your home's curb appeal is so important. Consider doing some or all of the following.


Exterior

  • Repaint your exterior front and trim
  • Paint your mailbox or lamppost
  • Make sure your doorbell works
  • Polish your hardware and exterior light fixtures. Install the highest wattage bulbs allowed
  • Buy a new doormat
  • Fix broken windows and screens
  • Clean gutters & downspouts
  • Repair roof by securing loose shingles, replacing damaged ones
  • Hose down walkway & driveway
  • Remove oil marks from driveway & garage floors
  • Repair cracks & pull weeds from walkways & driveway
  • Neaten up garden
  • Get rid of any excess garbage or garden refuse
  • Put potted flowering plants by the front door or in window boxes
